Mother’s Day Message
Send a Mother’s Day message to connect with the special lady(ies) in your life.
Mother’s Day is nearing, and if you’re anything like me, you’re thinking of the special women that add depth to your life. They aren’t all your mother, but you think of them on Mother’s Day too. They make life more meaningful and you want to honor them because they honor you.
When I enter “show them how special they are” mode, I often think of sending a card. However, I rarely find a card that says it the way I want it said or looks the way I want it to look. Many times, I end up making a card. And you could (Here’s the tutorial for last year’s painted Mother’s Day card if you need an idea).
When I paint a card, I think about what that person likes and how grateful I am for them in my life. It all goes into the card.
But what if you want personalized but don’t have time to make the card?
You have a some options.
- Buy a card from your local store and write a quick message inside.
- Look for a special card on Etsy and jot a note inside. Here are a few options from my Etsy Store, ThePaintedPen.
- Hand letter a Mother’s Day message in combination with either of the above cards.
In case you choose the hand lettered option, I’ve created a printable worksheet for you. It will give you ideas for those Mother’s Day messages and show you several lettering styles to try. It is accessible in my resource library along with other watercolor and ink resources (Just enter your email at the right or the bottom of this post so I can send you the password).
If you want some suggestions for how to use this printout, check out this post on How to Use a Calligraphy Alphabet to Practice Lettering.
Voila! A personalized Mother’s Day message from you to her. I’m glad you decided to show her how much you care.
Happy creating!

Just a brainy creative with a fascination about how people think and understand. I use watercolor and letter design to encourage connection ... with self, the environment, and especially the people who live there.
